I get a slice everytime I come to town. Best pizza in the Pacific Northwest! It's a tiny, hole-in-the-wall place, and if you want take out, you have to wait out in the cold as they torture you with that delicious smell coming from their ovens. It's definitely worth all the shuffling and jostling you have to do in order to place your order whilst the five gajillion people in the 15 square feet of store space chomp their already-acquired slices.

We ordered a small pizza to go. Wait was going to be 20 minutes so we walked out onto the pier to watch the boats. The pizza was great! Sauce is very tasty. Crust was a bit hard and crunchy but with good flavor. A 12" pizza was more than enough for two adults. Very filling. I'll definitely eat here again next time we're in Port Townsend.

Aaa yeah! Waterfont is holding it down. I eased into that delicious crispy sourdough crust with that classic herb-overload sauce yesterday: has not changed in 20 years! That kind of consistency over the years makes me wish I could add another star. Only a true Port Townsend-ite will start drooling at the mere mention of the name, "Waterfront Pizza". If your in town, stop by and have a piece of heaven. Yes, they've upped their prices, but if it's any consolation, they only did it to afford their rent-increase.

Waterfront Pizza is one of my all-time favorite pizza places. I happily make the 90-minute drive every few months to enjoy one of their Whole Earth pizzas (featuring three kinds of meat and four kinds of veggies on top of their fantastic sauce, cheese, and crust!). Their ingredients really make their pies. I've only ever dined in. Beware there can be a bit of a wait for a table (depending on the day of the week and how close you are to a mealtime), as they can only seat maybe 15-20 people. You can, however, generally place your pizza order while you wait for a seat (pizzas take about 25-30 minutes to arrive once they've been ordered in any case). Their salads are generally fresh, and they also make fresh lemonade (can be a little hit or miss since they make it to order). If you're in Port Townsend, definitely stop by for a slice or a whole pizza!

I really liked the laid back, chill atmosphere of this place. If you want to eat in the dining room, you have to walk up the stairs to the right of the pizza window. The upstairs area is small, but I enjoyed sitting next to the window and checking out what was going on down on the street. Our 16" pizza (half Greek and half Hawaiian) and 2 salads were more than enough to fill four hungry people. The sourdough crust was delicious and the pizza itself was one of the better I've had. We left very satisfied and happy with the reasonable cost.

If taste is what your looking for, then eat here! If your on a budget or a germaphobe, then move on... This place has the yummiest greek pizza and even the plain cheese has a unique flavor that I haven't had anywhere else. At the same time I rave about this place, I worry that the "unique flavor" might have something to do with all the employees taking smoke breaks out front and then not washing their hands when they go back in. There's nothing quite as stomach churning as watching your food being prepared by the same person who was just hacking loogies outside the front door. I guess the "no smoking, no spitting" sign they have posted, doesn't apply to the employees. The dough is supposed to be made from special hundred year old starter or something like that, but honestly, my home-made dough is just as good. The price is jawdropping. Seriously. $25 for a medium greek pizza. I paid almost $40 for a small cheese and medium greek. I almost didn't order due to sticker shock, but I had a car full of ravenous kids and the sheer addictiveness of that pizza won out. Now that I think of it.. I think they must put crack in the sauce.

Sometimes we cross the ferry from Whidbey Island just to get Waterfront pizza. We love the sourdough crust and the Cajun pizza. Only downside really is the limited seating upstairs.

Simply the best pizza. Sourdough chewy crust, crumbed sausage, great sprinkle toppings, granulated garlic, dried oregano, sweet sauce. Only improvement would be to upgrade pepperoni to tiny rounds like Blasdell Pizza in Hamburg, NY. Call ahead and order to go, then enjoy on the beach!

Great pizza but the people that work here are dicks. Just ordered my last ever pizza from Waterfront. 'nuf said.

A lot of hype, but not nearly as good as I expected. I love pizza and I have had it all over the world. I walked in to the place and got excited about what I was seeing. I ordered a slice that I just watched come out of the oven and here comes the let down, the toppings were only luke warm and a majority of them ended up on the plate when I tired to eat it. The crust was as crisp as a cracker and when you have a New York style slice it needs to be a little bendy so you can fold it (I do not like eating NY style pizza with a fork). The flavor, what I initially got in my mouth was just OK. It was kinda bland. My wife was very exited to eat here and when we left she made the comment about how she was disappointed with it and needed something else to eat.

Made my top ten list of "best pizza ever." There's a reason this place has a line out front. I have to dock them a star for the limitations of the building, not for the quality of the food. The second-floor dining room is not the most accessible (narrow-ish stairs with a handrail) and fills up quickly. Pizza this good needs more seating!

My group headed to Waterfront Pizza after the Strange Brewfest on Saturday. We wanted to get away from the crowd and noise of the festival and we were lured in by the smell of this place all day when we had walked around the area. We climbed the stairs and were seated quite promptly, in a table which had just been vacated (SCORE!). We pretty much decided to get a pepperoni & sausage pizza. Of course, the first decision was WHAT kind of sausage? We ended up getting half of the sweeter and half of the spicier along with the pepperoni. They had a pretty great beer list and I'm always happy when I can find Lost Coast 8 Ball stout...anywhere. We enjoyed our time talking about the festival and life when our pizza showed up. Oh. My. World. It was absolutely wonderful. The sourdough crust is outstanding. the toppings were melty good and plentiful. This was NOT a greasy pizza, but an extremely flavorful one. The crust was light and perfect for bending up to eat properly. We grabbed a box for the leftovers to take to the hotel room. We checked out the next morning, walked around the downtown for a bit and grabbed one more pie to take for the ferry right back home. We hit the walk up downstairs this time. Two lively and funny chaps were working hard and got us exactly what we wanted. It was once again, perfect. I look forward to spending more time here when I go back to Port T again.

My husband and I went to PT recently just to stroll around and the smells coming from this place drove us crazy. Got two slices downstairs at the take-out window, walked a ways down the street where we found a few tables and some chairs in a little courtyard and dove in. Man....this was the best pizza we have EVER eaten and we have eaten pizza in NYC, Chicago, and Florence, Italy. In fact, we can't stop thinking about it and are heading back over this Saturday just to try it again! Service...well, like I said...we just popped in, got our slices and walked out. Badda Bing, Badda Boom!

I was not impressed by this place at all. At the recommendation of some locals, my family and I head out there on a busy Friday before the 4th of July. It's the middle of the day and they have run out of almost all pizzas by the slice. Next one available will take 12 minutes. So we go ahead and order the available ones. That confuses the counter guy. I'll admit, we were confusing, but he acted like a complete jerk about it. I apologized and he was still a piss about it. So i'm thinking i'm going to taste pizza heaven right? wrong. I got the pesto veggie pizza. Bland. Pesto pizza... bland? How is that possible??? It is.. Also, the crust was made out of sourdough (at least I"m hoping it was) because it tasted SO sour... and dry. Maybe their full order pizzas taste better. Who knows. I'm not going to bother to find out.

Just grab from downstairs and take it to eat somewhere on the street. The dining room upstairs can take a long time. It is worth it though as the pizza is awesome. Now if you go upstairs make sure you try the kilt lifter beer. It is great. The service was good and attentive and the view down to the street was good. The only negative thing is that you may have to wait a long time as the dining room is small.

Okay, I am a local, and I love their pizza, but the reports about their rude employees are so true. I was on the phone ordering pizza tonight and was about done, when I changed my mind and decided I wanted half the pizza to be pepperoni, and the other half the hawaiian special I had ordered already. Hey, I had a craving for pepperoni. So the guy sets the phone down, and recounts to another employee what my (extremely simple) change in order is, and follows it with "Are you F***ing kidding me?" in a tone of total disgust and annoyance. I'm sorry, but I worked in a pizza restaurant as a driver, cook, and assistant manager years ago, so I know that having to erase a few pencil marks and rewrite the order is NOT that taxing of a job, and not worth swearing about. Save it for the drunk guy who calls with 10 people in the background shouting ideas for pizza toppings, and changing it 10 times before settling on something. At very least, cover the phone if you're going to talk like that about your own customers. I asked the kid if he was f***ing kidding ME! :D I asked the supervisor to take a couple dollars off my pizza as a token of apology, but he said no, and said there was nothing he could do but tell the guy to quit talking like that. I didn't argue further because I still wanted to get my pizza and it wasn't worth it. I asked about talking to the actual manager/owner and he warned me that if I didn't call before 10am it would be a very unpleasant experience, and that she would say she doesn't have time for this. THIS is customer service at Waterfront Pizza. Just FYI. These are the people cooking my dinner! I felt compelled to (jokingly) ask the supervisor not to spit in my food, because they were totally annoyed with me at that point. Is amazing pizza worth all this? I guess so. The sourdough crust and their old style pizza oven is why I return, because I just can't do that in my own kitchen. The idea of taking my business elsewhere crossed my mind, but was quickly dismissed, so there ya go. :P I give them a grudging 3 stars for today. So I write my review here mostly to vent. (I think me and WFP are even now.) If you have children, you may want to be aware that part of the "hole-in-the-wall" pizza experience features employees who talk like sailors.

When you're walking on Waterfront, the most AMAZING pizza smells waft through the streets, and it's all coming from Waterfront Pizza. As a little girl, I ALWAYS wanted to get pizza from here, but it never happened. In high school, I sampled the pepperoni and loved it - the ambiance, the view, the lure of FINALLY getting to taste this magical aromatic pizza...it was great. Now that i'm older, I appreciate the much-raved about Pesto Pizza. If they don't have any fresh slices, wait until it's ready. If you're not taking it to go, head upstairs and enjoy the view while you wait. Waterfront Pizza is a favorite destination for many local foodies, so if you want the real PT experience, try this pizza.

One star for delivery to our campsite, and the other star for being so friendly! Unfortunately the pizza was a disappointment. The crust was thick and doughy. It was neither a thin or deep crust, just mediocre. The Portuguese pizza was topped with linguisa. The good news is it wasn't greasy as I feared, but I come from a background that knows linguisa and I've never had anything like what was on this pizza. It had an odd crumbly texture and bland in taste. We were hungry but didn't eat much, which says much about this pizza. Perhaps this is par for Port Townsend but it wasn't what we had hoped for.

Waterfront Pizza may not have been in Port Townsend forever, but it sorta feels like it. It has been here as long as I can remember and it hasn't ever changed. It's a tiny place. Really tiny. There is seating for maybe about a dozen people inside, and a couple more outside on the bench that faces the sidewalk. You can order pizza pies or pick up pizza slices. The slices are in the glass cabinet as you come in, and the selection varies with the time of day, etc. They usually do a pretty good job of keeping it full enough to provide a couple good choices for both carnivores and vegetarians. They make hand-thrown crusts. Actually they're mostly hand-rolled-out, but that works. The pizza is very good, but not mind-blowingly good. It's a great, quick place to grab lunch on a sunny day in PT.

Well, in a town full of cafes for the sophisticated palate, we opted for pizza as a family friendly meal, something everyone could enjoy. We went here based on reviews, but ours was not a great experience. We came mid week during lunch and there was only one other table seated. We ordered fairly quickly, then the place began to fill up. We ordered the extra large pizza based on the serving size the server explained to us. Then we waited, and waited. When the pizza finally arrived, and it took a very long time for that to happen, they were much larger than described so there was much too much pizza, and they had gotten one completely wrong, leaving us having to wait that much longer. To top it all off it was only so-so. All in all, this town does not have a lot of options for family dining, crossing this one off our list.

Let's start with the good: the pizza is great! The crust is unique and delish! I'm not much of a crust fan but this was perfectly crispy but soft on the inside! Yum! The staff was sweet and attentive! The ok: the seating is ultra limited. I think there is a total of 5 tables?! I would def. recommended ordering take out instead! Also, they only offer two size pizzas with no options for kids. You either go small or extra large! Again, order to go and share with a friend! Lastly, it was a bit slow to get our food. Very rewarding once it came. But still slow. Overall, I would opt for take out next time and enjoy the yummy crust in my own place!

My all-time favorite pizza place in my hometown! Even living in Seattle I have not had better. It is amazing. Thin sourdough crust, tangy sauce, fresh toppings. My favorite is the pepperoni. You can buy pizza by the slice to go or sit at the counter and eat. Upstairs there is a charming little eating area you can sit and enjoy your meal while overlooking Water Street. All my friends growing up love Waterfront, and for good reason. They are the best! Our little town is lucky to have this gem. A must-visit whenever in Port Townsend.

Great joint to run in if you have a quick lunch or dinner. They don't have a lot of room inside, so don't go with a big group. Sadly, they don't stay open that late either, so it's hard to get some late night deliveries if you want them. Still highly recommended.

  • Lisa R.

This pizza is in the running for my favorite of all time!! The crust, sauce, cheese, and toppings were all incredible! I agree about not being "really" waterfront, since there is no place to sit and see the water. I can only say I am glad I don't live closer or I would weigh 300lbs eating this pizza every day. I love pizza and it's so hard to find a good one - this is it!! The downstairs part is for pick up and delivery and they have a very small seating upstairs, very eclectic, but comfortable. I thought service was great, the young lady was sweet and friendly and our food came out at just the right time. If I am even mildly close to that town again, I will go out of my way for their pizza!

To ensure you have the same 5 star experience I did, you'll have to: 1. Ignore the dingy facade and the sometimes rude service and remind yourself you're there for the best pizza on the west coast AND 2. Get fresh-from-the-oven SLICES (or your whole pie) directly from the take-out downstairs... delivery or sit down just isn't as good.

This is crazy good pizza! I try to stop in here for a slice every time I'm in Port Townsend. This past weekend we actually went upstairs to the little restaurant part and sat down for dinner. We had a Caesar salad and a Greek salad to start and then a humongous pizza with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms and black olives that was fantastic! So many toppings, hot, cheesy, melty deliciousness! I wanted to keep eating but it's a lot of food! The crust is perfect, sauce is wonderful and did I mention the hearty portions of toppings?! YUM! The 2 girls waiting on us were friendly, prompt and very helpful when we were deciding what to get. I love the artwork on the walls, wish I would have bought one of the pieces. Maybe next time...because I'll be back!

  • Shazzer T.

I drive all the way from Lynn'hood just to get a slice of their pizza. The crust is inane. It's sourdough and has the best aftertaste. Been a fan since 1990. We call it "mystic pizza" because the crust and sauce is so very different from anything I've ever had anywhere. There's magic in that old oven. If this place ever closed down I might have to go into mourning forever.

  • Samantha G.

Great pizza and a good beer selection. You have the option of dining in (upstairs) or taking out (downstairs). I opted to dine in with a few friends and we split a delicious large pizza between the three of us and still had enough pizza left over for lunch the next day! The reason my rating is 4 stars - the service. I understand that the guy upstairs who waited on us was basically on his own but it would not have taken him more than two seconds to ask, "how is your pizza?" or "can I get you anything else?" If he had taken the chance to ask, he would have sold another round of beer and added a few dollars on to his tip. Overall though, great place!

  • Stinky C.

I try to always hit Waterfront Pizza when I visit Port T. I like everything they make, but I have to agree with the reviewers who recommend stepping away from the standard pizza toppings and go for some of their gourmet offerings. I might have to drive out soon to get me a slice..... I'm making myself hungry for WFP.

Good Pizza but too much crust edge, there was nothing on about 3 inchs of the edge?

    (3)
  • Steve D.

Quite simply the best pizza in the western hemisphere! No exaggeration. Hole-in-the-wall by-the-slice or whole pie place with limited seating upstairs. They often have grungy kids in their first job working the till, but that detracts nothing from their amazing pizza. Sourdough crust from a very old starter (that's a good thing,), savory sauce, and great toppings. Try feta, sundried tomatoes and green chillies if you make your own (sometimes they offer that one by the slice too), or do their Portuguese Delight! The crust is what makes them a standout!

Waterfront Pizza makes a deliciously mean pizza at an affordable price in a wonderfully unpretentious atmosphere. Their beverages are also reasonably priced: .50 for tea and 1.00 for hot chocolate as example. I had a pizza with cajun sausage and coppa, and man it was good-Their crust is yummy as well. Now, I don't want to slam Seattle Pizza joints, but I'd be a happy camper if Waterfront came to Seattle. :)

A quaint fun place. Pizza was excellent. Great sauce. We had thick crust, but they make thin crust also.

After asking a local for a lunch recommendation, four of us traipsed in here to warm up and fill up. We ordered the veggie salad (are there any other kinds?) and it was surprisingly colorful and fresh, nothing out of a bag. The pizza took almost an hour to get to our table, which was frustrating as we were losing daylight and wanted to see more of the town. I would say though that the wait was NEARLY worth it. The pizza was really, really good but so are the views from Fort Worden State Park.

  • J P.

Waterfront Pizza is the best pizza in Port Townsend; however it is not good pizza. It's just the only option if one REALLY wants pizza and doesn't feel like making it. PS: They will sell their dough if you want to take it home and make your own pizza!

  • Ross C.

We stop here about once a year after we go camping at Fort Flagler. It's on the second floor and very small. Even so, we've never had to wait a long time for a table. Just be patient. The pizza is worth the wait. This time we had a large with pepperoni, olives and mushrooms. It was really good. Large slices of mushrooms and spices that really hit the spot after eating camp food for 4 days. We had to wait a long time for the pizza, about an hour. Service was so-so. I was chillin' but the kids were whining so minus 2 stars.

    (3)
  • Steven C.

We had a pepperoni, salami and olive pizza and their large combination pizza. The pizzas are good sized and filling. The sourdough crust looks bread-like but actually had a pretty decent amount of crispness and some chew as well. The salad was pretty much standard fare.

  • Sandra U.

Best in the region, hands down, both for crust and toppings! Generous with toppings but restrained enough that you can enjoy a crispy delicious sourdough crust! The "greek" combo is my favorite, but you can't lose here!

As someone as well traveled as i, it is hard pressed for me to think of better pizza i have had since living in the Pacific Northwest (10 years!). Even as an omnivore i chose the veggie pizza because of how great it looked. I suggest sitting upstairs where you can watch the goings-on on the street below. I wish i could transport myself there now...10 stars!

Obviously you have to get a slice when you are walking downtown. The smell coming out of the shop is so wonderful, its pretty much impossible to just walk by. YUMMY!!!

  • Catherine J.

Wow, the staff was ridiculously rude! Being a former waiter for 13 years, I always tip but today changed all that. My son and I were completely ignored while the 4 of them looked out the window at people walking by. I had to ask to be helped and then was greeted with more arrogant rudeness all just to get 2 slices to go. When I did NOT tip, the guy looked at me like 'how dare you!' wow, you guys really aren't that special and you aren't doing something amazing like saving the world......get over yourselves and yes I WILL absolutely let everyone I know to avoid your place.

Going here is a must. They are beyond kid friendly. The pizza is amazing. When we were having trouble deciding what to get, the server advised us to get 2 mediums and have them split amongst 4 types. My wife suggested we get the Greek. I usually don't like Greek pizza but this was the best I ever had. This was easily one of my top 5 pizza's ever.

We got slices to go the other day and they were terrific. We got 2 veggie slices, an artichoke tomato and a pesto mushroom. It looked like it just came out of the oven. It was among the best pizza I've ever had and I am super picky. The guys working were really nice and we can't wait to go back.

Have only had the takeout downstairs, but it is really good. Crisp crust excellent sauce and tasty toppings. Place is a bit odd, but well worth it. Best pizza I have had in Washington.

Awesome pizza! We were first brought in by the scent on the street for some slices in the take away downstairs section. The next visit we went upstairs for a sit down meal. I think the pizza was better at the downstairs counter but overall GREAT pizza. Can't wait to go back again this summer!

Solid hippy pizza (doughy crust, but handmade and tasty), good service. If you are expecting wood-fired, thin-crust, or east coast style pizza, this is NOT your place. But if you can open your mind to some tasty, handmade pies, this is the place.

this place definitely goes down in the category of "best food i ever had" ive had hundreds of thousands of slices of pizza from practically everywhere and ive never come accross a slice of pizza that could even be talked about the same way waterfront is..Im not sure if its the unique sourdough crust or the unique sauce they use but the combination of everything is out of this world..if youve had a slice from there you know what im talking about..i have brought many of my college friends back home and the first place we always go no matter what is too waterfront pizza...i constantly debate whether or not to drive there just for a quick slice...too me the three hour drive is more than worth it..I only wish they would open a seattle location so everyone would get an idea of just how great this little whole in the wall is...they would dominate and make a killin in the seattle scene..Please open a seattle location...

  • Jason G.

The best pizza I have ever had! This is a "hole in the wall" establishment that uses fresh ingredients, sourdough crust, and a fantastic homeade sauce. Get pizza whole or by the slice. They have some great not so common toppings such as feta, artichoke hearts, pesto, sun dried tomatoes, etc. Unique tasting and absolutely delicious!

I am glad that we did not just get a pizza to go. Decided to have lunch here before we left town and what a nice suprize. We had smelled the seasoning everytime we wnet near the place which made us want to try it out. The greek salad was very good and the foccocia bread was like a pizza itself served with some maranarra sauce it would have been enough , but then the pizza came and managed to finish a couple of slices. Everything was very good and good service as well.

I was going to give this place 3 stars because our flatbread and pizza took SO long (an hour to get our bread and 90 minutes to get pizza). But, the very friendly, cheery waitress ended up giving us the flatbread for free (because of the wait), so that made up for it. The pizza is super thin crust style, and it was good. They do half and half pizzas and have great topping choices. They serve Port Townsend beers on tap, which were reasonably priced. There are only 6 tables in the upstairs area, so it was full the whole time were were there, but the small number of tables made it feel comfortable and cozy. They have Trivial Pursuit cards at every table, so most people (including us) were playing trivia the whole time. And contrary to other Yelp reviews I read, we found the waitstaff to be extremely friendly, attentive and awesome. Great overall...but be prepared in case you have to wait like we did.

  • Kim M.

Highly recommend this little pizza joint. We stopped in midday for a beer and pizza...the pizza crust was like no other! Friendly waiter...could easily miss this little gem as it is hidden upstairs. Will definitely go there again!

Not worth the hype. Service is terrible...rather nonexistent, really. The waitress saw us come in but didn't acknowledge us in the slightest because she was chitchatting with a friend. So we awkwardly seated ourselves and waited a good while for her to bring us menus. We got a Canadian bacon pizza with half mushrooms and half pineapple, and it was very unremarkable. Maybe the Greek is better, but it's hard for me to not be happy with Hawaiian or mushroom pizza. It is nice that they have basil and garlic powder, in addition to salt, pepper, and Parmesan at the tables, but it should not be necessary to add so much extra flavoring if the pizza itself is really that amazing. The beverages are way more reasonably priced than the pizza. It was nice to come in from the cold to a hot apple cider with a cinnamon stick in it for just 50 cents. Except that it wasn't hot! My mom asked to have hers reheated because it was so unsatisfactorily lukewarm. If the service was awesome and the prices actually hole-in-the-wall cheap, I might give this place 3 stars. But the whole experience was very underwhelming. I would have rather checked out a different place for my one meal in Port Townsend.

I love you WP i really really do, but your staff, well your staff kind of sucks. Look, i understand the plight disaffected hipster. There are only so many ways to broadcast to the uncaring world that you don't care. Ennui can be exhausting, and yes it does hurt to know that Band Of Horses will never release a better album than "Cease to Begin" There are only so many ways to be ironic, without looking as if you were ironic. There are only so many hours in the day where you can silently scream at the top of your lungs for anonymity while desperately craving attention. Were it not for a Marine recruiter interrupting a pot fueled "Xwing vs TIE fighter" video game binge back in 95 with a perfectly timed phone call i may be there right next to you, wanting you to care that i don't care. But seriously, cut the shit when i am ordering my pie. I am polite, positive, i tip, what the hell more do you want from me? You seriously make the finest pizza i have ever had, but the last two times i have been there, both in the same week, have made me sad for showing up. Were i remotely interested in having children i would name my child Waterfront Pizza, hell i would sell the bastard to a life time of making baseball gloves in korea if it meant i could get one of your pies at any time day or night. Just... cut the crap. If you HAVE to do whatever it is that you do, just don't do it to me. Be as nice to me as i am to you, i will continue to sing your praise, and we can both go on with our very different lives where the common thread is that we would do unspeakable things in order to continue eating the pizza. xoxo

This place is SO GOOD. Perfect crispy crust pizza, plus fun trivia cards on the tables to pass the time.Great service, also.

Surprised and astonished at the horrible customer service over Labor Day weekend. They did not seem to realize there would be a larger rush this weekend. Waited close to 45 minutes for what should have been 20 minutes.

Certainly one of the finer places to get a slice in the northern Puget Sound. Perfect distance from the ferry for that bite before the boat. There's always a quick slice ready at the street-side, or head upstairs for sit-down service.

  • JoAnn D.

The pizza was quite good, but we almost didn't get to enjoy it. We were quite tempted to leave before even tasting their unique creations. The service was inattentive and, once they acknowledged our presence, they were surly and rude. We attempted to get a seat in their upstairs dining room and were ignored. We ended up ordering slices downstairs and were patronized when we had the audacity to ask what the various toppings were. I would never return to this restaurant. It's simply not worth the bad service.

Everything besides the crust and traffic were good. The crust is pretty bad, there's a bunch of leftover flour specks that get all over your fingers and the crust is just chewy and not crispy and crunchy like most other good pizzerias. The only other problem is the traffic, its in the "problem zone" of the town that takes forever to get to by its standards and the pizza delivery takes about an hour if you decide to go that route. Its still worth a try, don't get me wrong, just don't eat the crust and plan ahead

Waterfront pizza is awesome their sausage is over-the-top the atmosphere is friendly and old-schoolwhat an amazing group of employees if you have never tried one from pizza you're missing out on the best pizza in the northwest my family loves waterfront pizza again they are the best.

If you are drunk and hungry, go here. Sorry, but this just isn't good pizza. If you've ever heard of the east coast, the crust will offend you, it's flavorless and doughy. They need to proof the dough longer and cook it at a higher temperature to get some pop in the crust. Toppings are good, but that means little without a good crust.

Not terrible pizza, but not great either. Kinda like a deli pizza with a ton of oregano. Fair service as long as you don't need a drink refill.

A last minute labor day weekend trip to Port Townsend found us wondering why all the restaurants close between 3-5pm. A young local man directed us to Waterfront Pizza, stating it was, "pretty good." Quite fortunately we found it to be very good! The upstairs seating is small but cute and we were seated immediately. Our waitress was super friendly and let us know up front that we could order aby combination of choices half and half so we went with Waterfront (sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, olives) and Greek (feta, Greek olives, artichoke). The pizza was amazing. The service was fantastic and we'd definitely come back!

Excellent spot for lunch. We were passing through. Had three adults and two kids. Small place. A line waiting. Waitress suggested we give her our order and our cell number, walk around and she'd call when order and table were ready. Home made pizza, very good. Vegge pizza had a bit too many sprouts. Large sizes, we took some back to the place we were staying. Efficient, friendly, hard-working staff. Pizza good. On the water but no water view for lunch.

Excellent focaccia bread. Average vegetarian pizza. No waterfront view! Took 55min for the pizza to show up - weekend lunch!

Stopped in while perousing the shops in PT. The enticing scents on The street drew us in. The pesto pizza was deliciousness. We had every intention to post a picture, but devoured it before I could get a shot in. I will be talking about this pizza for months to come.

  • Damona R.

There is definitely something different either in the seasoning, the sauce...something. I mean that in a GOOD way. Had a simple pepperoni and it had a certain tang. The crust, for the style, is decent. The other half and I tend more towards your Neopolitan style, wood fired. This was stop two on what has been dubbed the pizza tour of Port Townsend. We would return, just to grab slices!

  • Dan T.

It you have any type of food palate. This pizza does NOT come close to the mark.. We had three very different 1 meat 2 veggie pizzas.. If you closed your eyes and took a bite of each different type. I was impossible to tell the different types. There was way to much toppings and the dough was at best below par.. Don't go

    (1)
  • Amanda B.

The pizza is good. The wait is long and the place is dark and not super clean. We picked up our pizza and they wouldn't sell us an extra slice that would have taken 2 secs to get. Not the customer service a business should have.

    (2)
  • Trentin P.

The pizza is great and filling. A twelve inch can easily feed three adults. If you're going to come with a group, make is a small one as seating is limited.

  • Jackson L.

Local, small town feel. We are upstairs and the older lady was very nice to us and provided great service. We had a couple of homemade lemonades to go with our pepperoni pizza, which was very flavorful. I would eat here again the next time I'm in port Townsend.

    (4)
  • Natalie C.

Heavenly pizza. It's indescribable good! Absolutely incredible! I do have to say that the service isn't great. One of the waitresses never said a word to us and never once smiled. Not even a little bit. I really appreciate friendly servers so that was very disappointing. Other than that, there was awesome music, perfect atmosphere for a cool pizza joint, and, to reiterate, amazing pizza!

Unlike any pizza you'll get from a chain restaurant, the crust is amazing and the ingredients they put on the pizza are delicious.

Had a 16" half pesto, half Hawaiian. Great sourdough crust. They also do "by the slice" downstairs. Always busy, always great. For the best Pizza in PT go to Waterfront!

We decided to eat here last night after looking at Yelp reviews. We ordered a Caesar Salad and an extra large sausage pizza with sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms. The Caesar was fresh and.had generous amount of parmesan cheese on it. It took 30 minutes for our pizza to arrive but we weren't in a hurry. We sat upstairs in their cozy dining room..The pizza came out hot and delicious. My husband didn't care for the sour dough crust but I thought it was fine. The waitress was attentive and friendly. The only funky thing was when she sat down at one of the tables with another customer and started eating pizza. I'm sure they were friends, but it did seem strange. My only hope was that she washed her hands before serving us our food.

Darned good pizza! We ate inside, up top, in a cute little attic-type space looking out through an open window at the town's major "street" and shops. The service was warm and lovely and personal. The pie was terrific! We ordered the thin crust, and it was crackly and charred at the edges, just like you always hope it will be. The sausage and mushroom toppings were generous. This is classic, traditional, skilled pizza. I have been to Mozza and this pizza is better by a substantial margin. I am sure that the folks in Port T realize that they are living in Food Heaven. I would just like to know how they have kept that secret for so long.

Good tasting pizza, wouldn't say it was The BEST. Have had better. Very thin crust and all toppings fall off easily.

I had a similar experience to JoAnn D. of Philadelphia who wrote a review 6/6. We come to PT every year and have always enjoyed the pizzas here. This last time, however, on Thursday, June 25, it was like a totally different place. I wanted to order a pizza to go and got someone on the phone who treated me incredibly rudely. I was trying to get info about the different pizzas and he became impatient and actually hung up on me! I was shocked, as I've always been treated politely here before. The prices have been jacked up by maybe 50% for the same size pizza. We'll probably keep ordering here occasionally, because they deliver, but hopefully by that time they will have canned the incredibly rude guy and hire someone who treats customers courteously.

never fails. perhaps the best pizza pie i've ever had.

    (5)
  • Chris K.

Probably one of the best pizzas I've ever had, and I know my pizza. Whatever they put in the sauce, it's fantastic. The crust is not greasy and has the perfect texture. Toppings are heaping. The 16" pizza fed two hungry people twice over. It left me feeling satisfied and not gross as most pizza binging would. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of the delivery time and price. We were less then a mile away and it took a little over an hour. It was also nearly 40 dollars for a 16" 3 topping pizza. That was the most I've ever paid for a pizza but I feel as if it was worth it.

  • C P.

The pizza was fabulous but customer service lacked. Called in our order and was told 30 minutes. Took about an hour and attitude from the cashier but we finally got our pizza.

I moved from Port Townsend recently and I'm missing this place. I've been to NYC and Chicago and while the deep dish was eye-rolling good in C-Town, Waterfront still wins for me. Sourdough crust and their heavy toppings are top notes. Try pineapple and jalapeño or pesto or whatever they have by the slice. Now if they could start doing deep dish..... (That .... Is me begging them to try)

    (5)
  • T M.

Worst customer service I've ever experienced, bunch of dicks and the quality of the pizza was average. If you want decent pizza for a decent price this is not the place to go! For that I will never be returning.

    (1)
  • Micah D.

I don't know what all the excitement is about. Waterfront Pizza is no different from any other pizza joint you may find, its just oaky. For some reason my whole life I here people go on and on about it, not sure why. Yes it is in a really neat building... but that just Port Townsend... nothing special.

Even though it was recommended by friends, I had my doubts when they told us we had to go back outside & up the stairs for the sit down section of this restaurant . But how charming! Great windows & places to sit & WOW the pizza! Just moved to olympic Penninsula & it's the best we've found by far.

I have to agree with some of the other reviewers. The owner and some of the employees are so horribly rude here. I really want to love this place- pizza by the slice is important. But not only do I hate to spend $3.50 for a slice of cheese, it's just not even that good. It is extremely salty and the slices are pretty small. My 8 yr. old loves it but I'm going to the other pizza places in town now- I just can't get behind this place anymore and it's a bummer.

    (2)
  • P L.

Staff was not friendly upon arrival but seemed to warm up. Then again I found the whole town unfriendly. The location was shabby and old. My husband had the Cajun. He said it was "wet" feeling and the crust was too thin. He said the toppings were liquid and needed to be drained. I had pesto sauce, artichoke hearts, olives, onions and tomatoes. The pesto had a good flavor, but you can have too much of a good thing. They were so many toppings on my pizza that the onions were barely cooked. We'd never go back.

  • Leigh W.

How is this good pizza?! I bought a slice of their cheese and it tasted like cardboard. I actually didn't finish it. Maybe if I ordered a whole pizza and if it was fresh, it might have been better. 1 star based on the pizza, but since we sat upstairs I'll give an extra star for the service. Our waitress was nice, but unfortunately that doesn't make up for bad food.

So I have noticed a lot of people saying how expensive WP is. It is true, but it is a heavy pizza. I can usually eat a large pizza by myself, at this place I can't even put down half of a large. So you are really getting some bang for your buck. Pros: Neat little restaurant that makes a really good pizza. You can taste the high quality ingredients.Has a dining area upstairs or you can go in the the take out area to grab a slice. Good customer service, even when it was hectic, the employees were joking and chatting with the customers. Cons: very small pick up area with one entrance/exit. If you are in a bad mood, hot or don't like to be crowded this may not be your best option. It took 45 mins from the time I called it in to the time that it was ready, so it was a bit slow. Parking in the downtown area on a summer day is a nightmare, but there isn't much that they can do about that.

We ordered our standard pepperoni, mushroom, olive to go as it is our baseline pizza that we judge all pizzas against. I think the wait was 20-25 minutes on a warm, sunny Saturday night. Pizza was ready on time though it was hard to fight my way in to such a small space. I cannot recall what I paid - $20? $17? I honestly don't remember. We walked it back to our camping spot at the marina and ate it outside with a view of the water. It doesn't really get any better than that. At first I thought it was a little salty, but leftovers the next day were perfect. I'd order from them again in a second. Their veggie pesto slices looked amazing.

Best pizza in the world! Wait staff is not usually that friendly, it takes a while when you order a whole pizza, but I don't care because the pizza is so damn good.

If you want a damn good pizza in Port Townsend, this is where you go. Hands down. The dining area is small, feeling more like an apartment than a restaurant, but certainly not without a degree of charm. We got the Waterfront Combo and snacked on it for a couple of days. Will definitely come back... and probably order the same pizza. :)

Best pizza ever and pretty cheap! Caesar salad was to die for too! Will be back for sure! I loved the crust!

Creepy little hole in the wall that possess your soul with evil spirits of pizza.....yummy, yummy pizza. Pros: Fucking heaven! Thick crusted, with a tangy sauce that sat perfectly upon the crispy bottom. It fell apart in my mouth like the titanic on it's maiden voyage, cept this pizza had no survivors! Toppings include creative combos such as pineapple, kalamata olives, green peppers, onions and a small gypsy's curse to steal your first born....but eh...who cares, the pizza is that good. Cons: A tad pricey but well worth the dough, Limited seating downstairs, more formal dinning upstairs if you don't want to shiver out in the cold while stuffing your face with the cheesy goodness. Summary: Best Pizza in Port Townsend hands down!

  • Stian W.

This is a last minute, pizza stop. Nothing more. The slices are overpriced. The last pizza I had was a vegetarian one with pesto, tomatoes, and mushrooms. It was very soggy and the crust was hard enough to become an instrument. The staff is usually very nice exept for Fabio who seems strictly business and hardly acknowledges you when you walk in. There also isn't much of a seating selection considering there is only counter stools that are too close together and the bench outside. The upstairs is obviously for regulars and I am not one of them.

Best pizza in town! My favorite part? You can get a slice and eat it on the beach! Great ingredients and made with love :)

Looking for a quick bite to eat in Pt Townsend? Waterfront Pizza's got you covered. After walking most of the day, we mostly just wanted a quick bite to eat. Who doesn't love pizza? Especially pizza by the slice! They have a regular restaurant too, but we just used the little pick up window area. We grabbed our slices to go and ate at some picnic tables on a little beach near by. Which I totally suggest other people doing. We saw otters!!!! The pizza itself is quite tasty, I would definitely come back for it again. The prices are a bit high at $4 for a slice, but its a BIG slice. Lots of different options available too. Everyone in my group enjoyed their different slice. Be warned though, the workers aren't very friendly. I can't believe I had the audacity to actually *ask* what toppings were on the various pizzas. I am sorry I don't know what the 3 different kinds of "meat" or "veggie" pizzas are. If you can get passed the jaded, smug workers, you can enjoy a quick, tasty lunch.

Grab a slice of "everyone's favorite", dash some parm and herbs on and walk around the corner, plop down on a piece of washed up driftwood and sit with the waves as the atmosphere completes the ritual. Just perfect pizza. Sourdough crust. Zesty full bodied sauce. Great pesto.

This was a damn good pizza. The other half and I got a garlic, onions, peppers, and sausage pizza. It was delicious!! Crust was amazing and so were the toppings. It's a tiny place. Only seating is downstairs that has a bench, and upstairs there were about 6 tables. Chairs were uncomfortable... Service was alright. Will I go back, yes... it's a great place to get pizza... but prepare to fight for a table.

For such a small little town, this place has really awesome pizza. We drove in from Seattle and stopped by the downstairs of this place. (Downstairs has a takeout/pick-up area and a few stools where you can grab a quick slice and upstairs has a cute little restaurant with more options.) They had a case with a bunch of slices already made - and they all looked AWESOME. There were 3 different meat pizzas, 3 different veggie pizzas, and then the basic cheese & pepperoni. They all looked and smelled amazing - but I ended up picking a pepperoni with mushrooms and olives. Great choice on my end. Go me! It was thin crusted, lots of toppings, lots of cheese, and decent-sized slices. Couldn't have asked for anything more! About $4-ish for a slice which was a LITTLE much but still good. If you're in this quaint little town, come stop by and grab a slice! You won't regret it! (At least I didn't...) =)

Best pizza in the universe. They do need a better restaurant though. When I want to bring a group of people I have to go elsewhere. The space upstairs is uncomfortable. Rent a bigger space guys. Oh, and pitchers of beer wouldn't hurt. :)

  • D C.

Great tasting pizza! A little on the spendy side-$22 for 16 inch but well worth having it handmade fresh. Nice cosy atmosphere and trivial pursuit cards to pass the time. Be prepared to wait approx 25 minutes for your pizza.

You wont find another pizza place like this. Food and topping mixtures that have been concocted by hippies... So yeah you better believe they got their act together. The signature for this place is their sourdough crust. After that, anything they feel like throwing on top of that, I guarantee you will swear is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Some of my fondest memories of this place are grabbing a slice or two after school, and sitting on the bench directly outside. They also have tables and dining upstairs for those with larger parties. My personal favorite from here is the Pesto combo. If you have never eaten here before, PLEASE DO NOT GET THE USUALS (cheese, pepperoni, hawaiian, etc)!!! You will seriously be selling yourself short, and will regret just how awesome this place is. Everytime I get a chance to head back home to PT, I always take a pizza for the road to make everyone else I grew up w/ jealous once I'd get back over to the Seattle area (as many of us have transplanted over to that area). I swear this pizza is so good, that people could probably get away with using it as currency.

Yum yum yum. I am not from Pacific NW. have lived in Bellingham 10+ years and despaired years ago of ever eating a yummy pizza in this corner of the world. I smelled Waterfront as we passed by on the sidewalk and told the husband I could tell from the lovely aroma this place has good pizza and we have GOT to eat some. I was dead right. We got the pesto, tomato, and mushroom, to which we added coppa. Divine! I ate 100% of each piece, including crust, which I usually toss as worthless whitebread carbs, but theirs was TASTY so I woofed it too!! Hubby & I returned 6 weeks later and got the pepperoni/ black olive/ mushroom. Also fantastic. This is now not only a must have whenever we visit Pt T but actually a reason in itself to return to Pt T. We love Waterfront Pizza!!

Wasn't expecting much from the look of the place, but my dear husband assured me it was supposed to be fabulous and sure enough, it didn't disappoint. Apparently the dough yeast is from the 1800s in Germany (trivia shared with me by my pizza-fanatic husband) and it tasted divine. Thin crust yet with substance and bite. The pizza sauce was probably the best I've ever had. Just went with cheese on my half and it wasn't the ubiquitous thin, gelatinous frosted-on appearance----No sir, it was a flavorful, seasoned medley of cheesy goodness. Our server was super sweet and attentive. Loved her. Would def rec'd this place~

The best pizza in PT hands down. For me pizza is 80% about the crust and theirs rocks. The sausage is also very good. Salads are average but, hey, who needs salad at a pizza place. It can be difficult to get through on the phone for take out orders when they are busy.

    (5)
  • Debbie Chiou S.

So good. Got a slice while waiting for the ferry. Only cheese left, but the crust was nice and delicious. Generous tomato sauce - cheese a little thick for my taste - but it really hit the spot. You can call ahead to order a whole pie to avoid the line at rush hour and/or take it to the beach around the corner to enjoy.

My husband and I were here in town for my friend's wedding. My friend told me that we had to try Waterfront pizza and Elevated ice cream while we were in PT, so my husband and I wandered down here and each grabbed a slice of pizza to eat outside. I took one bite out of my pizza and I really loved it. However, a seagull was flying above me and pooped on me and my pizza. It was kind of awful. My husband was like, "suck it up. keep eating your pizza." I was like there's seagull poop on it and I have seagull poop in my hair. He thought I was overreacting and should just eat around the poop. He also wanted to go to elevated ice cream for dessert, but I told him I kind of needed to go and wash my hair. Anyways, the one bite of pizza that I had was very delicious and my husband thorougly enjoyed his slice!

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations.
